28/11/2017 Email from V. Batagai The piece is called "An-Daydu Inyate"- "Mother of the Universe" The work is called "An-Dayda Inuta" - "Mother Universe". The female figure personifies the "Mother Universe" which holds the female staff "Nori" in her hands as a symbol of her power. According to the legends of the ancient Dolgans, "Mother Universe" sits at the opening of the sky, and with the help of a female staff catches geese flying south. In her other hand, she holds a copper maut (lasso), this lasso, the mother of the universe catches godies from the middle world who are trying to get to the upper world. The back of the female figure is the sacred pole "Tura masses" sacred tree, inhabited by good and bright spirits of the upper world. on top of the gesture is a bird figurine, symbolizing the Oksyuku (multiple worls). 28/11/2017 Email from V.
